Adolescent Mental Health
The Project
The Adolescent mental health project is a three-year training project funded by the Department of Health. It focuses on training for those working with vulnerable teenagers in a variety of settings and contexts. There is particular emphasis on the emotional well being of young people.
The overall aim is to increase the competence and confidence of staff working with young people in relation to their mental health issues by designing and delivering a wide variety of training courses which will be available as open courses run by TSA across the country and also as in-house tailor made courses for specific organisations and staff groups.
The project has a principal training co-ordinator and dedicated input from qualified researchers who track down research findings and examples of good practice in mental health work with teenagers. This information can then be translated into accessible training.
