Health and emotional wellbeing

Emotions Work - Young People Self-esteem and Coping Strategies (2009). A collection of worksheets on CD to help young people consider how they see themselves and their relationships with others.

Euphoric Flash Picture Emotions (2008). A pack of postcard-sized photo images created by young people. The focus is on emotional health and the pack also includes worksheets/suggestions on how to use the photos with young people.

Youth Voices: Emotional health (2005). A training resource for professionals looking a different aspects fo adolescent mental health. Features young people's perspectives on DVD plus a trainer's guide on CD.

Wavelength: a Handbook of Communication Strategies for Working with Young People (2005). Describes over 50 different techniques that help communication with young people.

Listening in Colour (2002). Interactive self-study material for counsellors and social workers.

Working with Young People (2002). Training exercises that develop interpersonal skills for working with young people. Supports the accredited Open College Network course with the same title.

A Little Bit of Respect (2002). Video featuring young people talking about family, teachers, social workers, police and helping adults.

Young People: Suicide and Self-harm (2002). Information and practical strategies for supporting young people.

Getting Through: Young People and Communication (1988). A resource pack to use in work with 14-18 year-olds.

Parenting and family life

Take Three (2008). A training manual for working with parents of young people aged 10-18. Developed and tested over an 8-year period in Oxfordshire. Ideal for parents struggling with young people's behaviour.

Teenagers in Foster Care - Promoting Positive Relationships (2007). A training manual for delivering courses to foster carers and social workers. Covers a range of topics associated with promoting positive relationships with/for young people in foster care.

Getting Along (2007). A magazine-style resource for young people in foster care which covers issues related to promoting positive relationships.

Challenging Years! Living with Teenagers (2006). A training manual for working with parents of teenagers - ideal for all parents, not just those experiencing difficulties. Developed and tested over several years in Surrey.

ESCAPE and Parallel Lines: A Problem-Solving Approach (2003). A training manual for working with parents and young teenagers. Focuses on overcoming problematic behaviour.

Teenagers in the Family (2001). Video featuring mini-dramas with discussion about normal adolescent development.

Teenagers in trouble: skills for parents (2000). Video featuring mini-dramas and discussion about supporting families with teenagers drifting into trouble.

Parenting Inside and Out Toolkit (2009). A resource for work with teenage parents in custody - including linked work with their own parents.

Understanding and Working with Young Men in Custody (2003). A comprehensive training pack.

Understanding and Working with Women in Custody (2002). Award-winning guide for trainers.
