Tailor-made Training

Home » Courses & Conferences » Tailormade Training

We offer training on a wide range of subjects in two major areas: Promoting the mental health and emotional wellbeing of young people and working with parents of teenagers. We can tailor existing courses to your requirements, or design others from scratch to your specification.

Young People in Focus takes responsibility for the course content including programme, handouts and arranging trainers' overnight accommodation. Your agency provides the venue and selects the participants. Follow the links for more information.

Making a Booking

There are five main steps involved:

  1. Discuss your requirements informally with Wook Hamilton, Training Manager.

Wook will let you know whether Young People in Focus is able to provide what you are looking for and will be happy to explore the issues involved in providing the training to help you decide if you want to go ahead.
  2. When you are sure you want to go ahead, put this request in writing (email is fine) Wook Hamilton. Specify what you want the course to achieve, who the training is for, and your preferred dates.
  3. We will then acknowledge your written request and arrange a suitable date with the designated Young People in Focus trainer who will be running the course.
The trainer will then work with you to plan the event in detail. Consultation is usually done by telephone and email.
  4. Closer to the training date we will be sending you a written agreement that confirms the basic details about the course.
  5. Lise Hansen, Course Co-ordinator, then follow through the practical arrangements for the training.

Ideally, Young People in Focus requires written notice of a request for training about 12 weeks before the date you want the training to take place. Experience has shown that this timescale is necessary for all parties to make effective arrangements. We will consider requests for training with less notice but cannot guarantee that we will be able to meet them.

Young People in Focus operates within an anti-discriminatory framework and we aim to make reasonable adjustments to meet the different needs of course participants. Please let us know if you have any particular needs that we should be aware of.
