Supporting Young Peole with Mental Health Problems

This course aims to increase the understanding of the key issues around mental health and young people. It covers information on possible signs of mental health problems as well as exploring practical strategies to support young people.
The course covers:
- The possible signs of mental health problems in young people
- The social, emotional and psychological issues that may affect the well-being of young people with mental health problems
- How to support young people with mental health problems including building confidence and self-esteem
- The statutory and legal frameworks in relation to young people and mental health problems
- Practical strategies for helping young people
- How to respond when dealing with young people with mental health problems
Optional Credits:
Participants can attend this course as a free-standing training day or for an additional charge, choose to gain credits for this unit from ABC Awards. A work book with portfolio building support and an assessment interview will be provided as part of this package.
